Animated Videos Created For My Business

Cow With a Dream:

The viral flash movie I created for my own business - Audacious Audio - that helped grow my own list and, more importantly, created JV partnerships and relationships with some major players.

Key:  A prime by-product of creating top notch multimedia is how it elevates your profile and perceived expertise in the eyes of your market, as well as those who don't even know you.

The Article Dog: Talking Dog Video

Humor is one of the most powerful pulls in any multimedia. So when I created a talking dog speaking about article marketing, it was a huge winner that triggered an avalanche of comments.  This promo video for the 90 Articles in 90 Days Traffic Challenge not only enabled me to get word out on the offering in an entertaining way, it has my list actually looking forward to future promotions. Quite a feat!

The Twelve Days of Twitter:

This tongue-in-cheek take on the 12 Days of Christmas profiles the frustration of a Twitter newbie running smack dab into the 140-character ceiling until he finally "gets it".  Video that capitalizes on a current trends or cultural hot spots can attract a lot of eyeballs. Especially when you use humor or a unique point of view.

Slideshow Videos: Created For My Business

Basset Hound Puppy Trio: Promotion

While these adorable pooches don't actually speak, the dialogue that appears over their heads captures the imagination (and attention!) of the audience. In this promotion for the Social Media Slideshow Challenge, two of the Bassets bemoan the difficulties of getting started with online video, while the third excited points to the Slideshow Challenge as the way around the bottleneck.

A great example of how a single photo - if used creatively - can help lower the instinctive defenses of your audience, and make them much more likely to buy.

Social Media Slideshow Challenge Promo

While not quite as funny as the Basset Video, this slideshow that appeared atop the Social Media Slideshow Challenge sales page not only helped to diffuse misgivings of those considering signing up, but is an in-the-flesh showcase of just how effective (and simple!) a slideshow can be in promoting their products and services.

Article Challenge Promo

Another slideshow atop a sales page. This one leverages not only text over a background, but still images of me with text around me. This creates a bond, a connection with the viewer and makes it seem more like they are being spoken to then spoken at - a huge plus when trying to persuade the viewer to buy.

Financial Freedom Slide Show

Slide shows can deliver powerful inspirational messages, as continuing content for customers, a compelling opt-in booster for your mailing list, or even a stand-alone product. This movie was designed to help those navigating the rough waters of financial hardships to get through the lean times and then set their sights on better days ahead.

Key:  Hope sells. The challenge is to do it in a way which is emotional without feeling melodramatic, contrived or sappy.

Animated Videos: Created For Clients

Entrepreneur Idol: Michael Port

This big, funny spoof of American Idol created for Michael Port's Book Yourself Solid launch, attracted a ton of traffic, and helped the book stay atop the Amazon.com business best-seller list for weeks.  The animated depiction of Michael along side the familiar Idol favorites created quite a stir when released in 2006.

In fact, here is what Michael himself says about it, " The viral video Rob created for us -- called Entrepreneur Idol - helped Book Yourself Solid remain one of the bestselling marketing books in the country since it's release in 2006. So, you can understand why I'm a big fan of Rob."

Melanie Benson Strick:  3 Massive Mistakes

This movie created for entrepreneur coach Melanie Benson Strick, helps to illustrate what Melanie has become known for: helping to conquer overwhelm in the lives of entrepreneurs trying to manage their growing businesses. The movie highlights the "3 Massive Mistakes" these entrepreneurs make, including terminology Melanie is now famous for and her secrets to steering clear of them.

Suzanne Falter-Barns & Lisa Sasevich

When coaching icons Suzanne Falter-Barns & Lisa Sasevich decided to leverage a recorded live seminar into a combination live Telesession / Home Study course, this movie helped to explode opt-ins for the preview teleseminar, and enrollments in the eventual course.

The wide screen cineramic visual, timed perfectly with the soundtrack, help to grab attention and funnel viewers to signup for the preview telseminar. At which point Suzanne and Lisa took care of the rest!

Talking Dog Opt-in Video

Another talking dog video, was created for a colleague to support the launch of a newsletter in a brand new niche.  The fact that it was her own dog made it a bit more challenging. (After all, you are dealing with a family member). But with the uncanny, realistic facial animation -- she loved it, and is putting it to work in her marketing and opt-in campaign.

Speaker Summit Promo

This slideshow, created for speaker coach extraordinaire Susan Levin and her annual Speakers Summit 3 day event.  A slideshow like this, along with it is soundtrack and sequential images, captures viewer attention at a deeper level than a simple email, press release or sales page.

Once the video is over it automatically forward the viewer to the registration page where they can find out more and sign up.

Slideshow Videos: Created By Clients

The Inner Christmas Movie:

(Scroll two-thirds of the way down the page to view the movie).

Lynn Jericho, another very talented client, boosted her mailing list from 220 to over 15,500 total opt-ins in 15 months, primarily on the strength of her Inner Christmas movie.

Even major marketing gurus take years to build their list to 15,000. Lynn did it in 15 months, starting - literally - from scratch.

Lynn, wrote this movie herself and found a talented designer colleague to create the it.  While I coached and helped her along the way, the captions, terrific soundtrack and powerful visuals were selected by her.

Key:  You don't have to be a film school grad to produce powerful results.  If you have the right guidance.

The Voice of Incedo and Make Some Damn Mistakes

Another very successful client story! I trained one of Incedo's staff members, with no previous animation experience, to create these stunning movies from scratch.

What makes them more powerful is that Incedo Group works with corporate executives and CEOs:  a market supposedly immune to video. In spite of this, their movies have generated a powerful response, a spike in opt-ins, and even a supreme complement from Vicki Sullivan, master speaking coach who said:

"Here's a great example of how cutting-edge experts use new media to create a showcase for what they know. Notice how they did not cut corners on the production. Moral: if you're going to get into this game, play to win."

Key: Even movies geared toward more established, high-end big ticket markets can be successful, so long as your movie captures the situations and challenges they deal with every day.

Split Screen Videos:

"Keys to Coaching Millions" Interview Videos

Here is an interesting technique:  a split screen interview I did with Milana Leshinsky to promote her Coaching Millions books and programs.  This segment is one of six segments created to help fill her Coaching Business Training Institute high end program.

Key:  Multi-video series, like this one, convey the benefits of a high-end offering in a very personal way, and reduce the perceived risk of signing up.

The Mad Marketing Podcast

Transcontinental video show in which I pioneered the split screen video technique.  I was in Los Angeles. Andy Wibbels was in Chicago. And through some post-production magic, editing and good old fashioned seat of the pants creativity we were able to replicate an expensive broadacast technique for pennies.

The rapid pacing, variety of production elements and screen changes helped to insure remarkable viewer retention.

While some of these video marketing tips run a bit long, I received remarkable feedback that the split screen technique kept viewers mesmerized the whole way through.

Full Motion Video:

Evil Twin Video:

Just like the Article Dog video, when you can leverage the magic of video to depict a situation that just can't happen in "real life", you are guaranteed to grab the attention of your audience. And this dialogue with my evil twin - used to promote the Article Traffic Challenge - had the audience watching all the way through, highly entertained, and glued to the screen.

In a world with such short, divided, distracted attention spans - this is money in the bank!

System Scare - Winner 2008 System Seminar Video Contest

(Be sure you stay to the end for a hysterical payoff!)

When internet marketing guru Ken McCarthy challenged attendees to capture the magic of The System Seminar on video, I didn't just want to show a bunch of boring conference footage.

Since part of Ken's brand is poking fun at the "good old boy" network of other marketing gurus, I figured the perfect plot would be to have those gurus try to infiltrate the System Seminar itself!

With a nod to psychological thrillers, and horror movies (including "The Shining"), this suspense laden video took the top prize at the 2008 System.
